Yeah, but this is the 500mb pattern, super unfavorable on large scale as a sustained thing, it's taking a few days to change the surface.

Some schools (Fairfax and some to the NW) are delayed two hours.

Probably to ensure most leftover black ice gets melted/washed away or visible.

BWI reported 1”! How did IAD only have 0.4”??

I believe this is the first winter since 17-18 that BWI has recorded more than a T of snowfall in 4 straight months (Dec-Mar).

Was in between bands, first the northern one that got me good… and then the second one that got fairfax county/I-66

Actually (nerding out for a minute), 30 years ago was 1985-86, a backloaded nina winter. IAD got 15.6" total. I've already beaten that

I know last week there was a discussion about the total new snow reporting at Wintergreen. Yesterday, their Devil’s Knob camera  ( golf course on top of mountain) showed the ground going from clear to snow covered, even the walkways. The three ski trail cameras also showed snow falling.  Grass is still snow covered this AM but there is no new snow being reported. I think Devils Knob is the highest golf course in Virginia.

The deck was icey for sure! Had to clean it for the dog and family not to slip. Roads are fine, but the trees, combined with the wet snow from yesterday, are weighted down quite a bit. 31.7 degrees! Just a little bit longer for winter's last gasp and then the warm up begins.

Pretty good glaze on everything here. Vehicles completely encased and fairly thick.
