Lights keep dimming in and out in Felton.  Holding on so far but my buddy in Magnolia is having the same issues.  I'm guessing heavy tree limbs touching lines as the winds blow.  Lord willing everybody's lights/heat stay on.

just over 7 inches here measured in a few different spots in my front yard.

I'd say about 8". It's almost lake effect-ish in the heart of this death band. Headed back out. I had to eat some apple pie and take a dab. I tried to explain myself to the front desk guy but he looked at me even weirder lol

Not to deb but even aside from accumulations this isn't really a fun storm. Very sloppy snow, lots of puddles and mud everywhere. Not prime jebwalking conditions

If you want to live vicariously through me, I have about 8" in the last 4 hours (Staten Island in NYC) and am under one of the heaviest snow bands I've seen in a while.

Yeah I thought to myself while walking my dog that it felt closer to walking in the rain than anything, just so wet.

Same here NW of Vienna.  Had several hits to the grid over the last 5 mins as the wind picks up.  There's a lot of weight on the trees with this paste.  Expect we'll loose power at some point soon.

Just had a fairly large power outage hit our immediate area - 260 customers/houses w/o power.  Fortunately, our house is still online - for now.

Then why is DC and Baltimores average snowfall declining?

That's a long term deal. So are mine. We know why. But the 'losing the margins' argument doesn't apply to every discrete event. Macro vs micro.

Even though it's pure snow here, it's "raining" under trees because precip from earlier is melting and falling again as water.

Measured 1/2” in Lancaster County, VA after whatever melting and compaction has occurred. It really isn’t sticking to much and feels more like rain in spots. I was hoping to cover the grass entirely at least once this year. Grassy surfaces aren’t looking any different than they did at sunset. It’s still 33 here too so I don’t think much else will come of this given radar appearance as well.

1.3” official report at 10pm. Never trust a Nina beach blizzard. Maybe that IVT gets me overnight still.

Except some people say you can’t mention Niña.

Also shocked, shocked, the IVT was mostly a bust.

hope you get some snow tonight so you can cheer up.

Given the many suggestions I've received to ignore you like an angry gnat, clearly you have nothing in your life outside making irrational ad hominem attacks against internet strangers. And given that this means you have no one in your life--because why else would someone behave this way, and who would want to associate with someone who provides zero value in any situation whatsoever--I'm completely satisfied.

Oh and look. It's still snowing. You have a good one now!

Beautiful wintery night in Germantown. I eyeballed 2.5" on the sidewalk and a retaining wall. And I've done some woodworking in the past. Nowhere near $150k woodworking.. but here we are..20260222_201718.thumb.jpg.f3c6ae652b893b562ae01cb86c3adc37.jpg

Thanks to the rain, the snow is sticking to everything

Quick Rant Here.

I think some people here are more in love with the concept of snow or a winter storm than the physical thing itself! This rant is not aimed at the genuinely unlucky few who have next to no snow OTG at all; for you guys I feel for you and it sucks, I wish it went differently. However, the rest of you all need to get a grip as it did snow! From five days out this looked like a pie in the sky longshot to get nearly anything; for Pete's sake our initial posts were making fun of banking on a Miller B daytime storm with a trash airmass. Now, in the meantime we've seen our odds increase but frankly nothing ever looked absolutely amazing. For all of us fortunate enough to get snow please for the love of god instead of posting here about how much less you got than expected go out and enjoy it!! Most of my pictures and Jebwalk occurred while it was 33 degrees and less than a half inch of the ground (or deer). Something that constantly amazes me is that it only takes a 1/2 inch of snow to transform the landscape into something completely different. While I wish we all got more than what we did please just go and enjoy it. It's not worth the angst of tracking otherwise.
