You prob don’t want the rotting band if you’re in SE areas because you don’t want to miss the convection t being entrained into the CCB. They’ll be a relative jackpot west with wherever the band pivots but there will be another with the Firehose of convective snows hitting SE areas…they’ll get their own bands taking their time to leave later in the storm too, but the stuff very early tomorrow morning could be epic there.

Yeah let’s shove that to 495

If the perfect banding, after ALL these 24-36 model runs and maps goes 25 miles to my NW I Will lose it.  Happens in Every Storm.  Not This One.  Please.

Did the NYC trip get cancelled?  Are you in RI for this?

Yeah everything will be caked..power loss inevitable

Neighbor is a lineman says they are expecting it to be really bad. They have pretty high standards for not working over a set wind speed for safety reasons. There is going to be a long duration where they can't work on any lines with this storm.

Another reason why it is a great idea to at least have an indoor generator on hand..

I'm seeing the familiar banding pattern set up. Subsidence will be over the bay. It'll still be a great storm, even if you don't jack. Right now I'm guessing 12 inches for me.

I can't think of a single proper noreaster where mesoscale forecasting was better news than the broad brush look.

Folks keep in mind it was slightly more than a week ago that someone said the back of winter was broken lol

We tried to tell ‘em….   But I think some of that was about the extreme cold.  But now we shift focus to extreme snowfall….winter 25-26 stepping it up further.

Weird to consider that as a 57 year old who went through ‘78 that this could wind up as a top five storm for me

We are the same age…78 is very vivid for me too. That was the benchmark here. But Feb 2013 delivered even more snow…so they are both the most impactful winter storms here now.  Let’s see if this beast can match up to those two for my area.

Yup…although 2 days ago we were putting this storm in its grave.

Towns with poled lines (Mattapoisett) are in for a treat

Jerry flew all the way back from Florida for this....there's really no way you can go to Mattapoisett to experience it there? We need eyes on the ground on the south coast

I don’t know why he chooses to live with lobster traps on a lonely peninsula in Maine.

Yeah, feeling pretty good where I am right now.cez

I'd say a line more from Putnum, CT through North Foster, RI, Mansfield, MA over to Brokton, MA will probably be the Jacks with this at about 30". Just a humble guess given the trajectory right now. I don't think 36" falls from this storm though. That's a little too high but with the snow already on the ground in many places already, people may actually record that number as total Snow Depth for a decent part of the forecasting area.

The cold ocean temp may keep things interesting for awhile...a good example is Friday night in my area..
