Interesting in Brookline just still mostly arctic sand

@weathafella @Henry's Weather and others in Boston metro curious what your snowgrowth has been

We probably have about 2.5-3 otg. Snow growth is inconsistent but tremendous in bands. This photo is from the first of the heavy stuff. Just near white-out conditions circa 12:45

Growth has been piss poor here so far…probably too cold in the column to start.

First hour or 90 min here was pure baking powder. Had to get into the 20-25 dbz stuff before seeing good snow growth.

Started out well but mostly sand now up here. At least it’s coming down at a decent clip.

Growth is meh in between bands. Not surprising and I assume it will become more consistent after about 21z or so.

Same here ...  it's 'almost' S+ during a couple different intervals over the last two hours, but it quickly recedes back to a pedestrian S fall rate.

Vis est 1/2 mi ... flirting with 1/4 mi when they occurred.

Be that as it may, just under 4" here, so as expected ...accumulation is quite efficient in this cold air.

Is the snow salty

If it hasn’t gotten to you yet, it’s about too All of a sudden, larger flakes started mixing in, and within three minutes complexion of the snow changed. The earlier flakes were not sand, but very small, and now some larger and medium sized flakes mixed in and visibility dropped even more.
