Nws is hilarious they call for a rain snow mix today and 35 with 1-2 inches. How do you get 1-2 inches with a rain snow mix at 35?

Then you click on the wwa and it says 2-4 inches.

i guess they are covering all their bases.

I think this is mostly a rain storm the HRRR is already wrong they said we would be 15 minutes of rain with the change over to snow and we’ve been waiting for about an hour so it’s already Wrong.

Just about over here. Lt snow that radar misses, as is often the case up here I have found, should be ending soon. Roads and sidewalks basically wet with only a few snowy patches. I'll be shocked if I measure an inch on my car, but definitely not over an inch.

Iow, you really didn't miss anything of consequence.

Final map for Sunday... only notable change was to drag the 1-2" contour southward into the Raleigh metro region. Richmond northward is essentially the same as the initial forecast with just a few very minor adjustments.

Was hoping the models would bring the PM snow more in line with my track, but looking more like now this will be lower-end/under my forecast in the DMV region. I wasn't really relying on this morning's activity to do much south of the MD/PA border, but would have liked to see at least a coating IMBY by now instead of rain/mix.

Two days in a row with snow. Nice.

What did Parkton Mesonet report? I see it has 2.8” snow depth. There was decent melting yesterday in sunny spots so not sure how much had melted to know new snow depth

I had no expectations. Precip east of me now so unless it back builds later, it’s a half inch or so.

That was yesterday for me. Waking up and looking out the window to an unexpected snow globe was pretty cool. This system is an example of why we need blocking here. Flow is just too progressive making it hard to get more than these light events.
