Funny enough, 3k NAM from last night was too warm for a lot of the area on this AM’s temps. Split the difference and it could be a pretty accurate forecast. -2° up by psu/mappy over to Leesburg and 2-3° towards 95.

First time I’ve left my place since Saturday due to a cold and busy work schedule combo. Looks more like it snowed than sleet..so that’s fun. Roads are in pretty decent shape. And when the sun is out it’s still cold af, but a lot more tolerable.

This cold is just unrelenting. 17.6 degrees here with winds at 8 and gusts to 20. It is simply brutal out.

It blows over to the Eastern Shore side. It builds north to south, east to west. It's coming.

That is wild. They know when its safe to make a quicker route across.

Forecast low tonight is 4 here. I'll take the under after hitting 2 this morning when the forecast low was 7. Might make a run at 0 if the wind completely dies down.

It was on land/the snowpack. Sorry if my post was confusing. However! I have seen a fox or two explore out on the river ice in the past as well. Rarely. It could be they were going after the smell of fish remains or something from eagles, for food (?) but this would usually be when there is some melting, even a little. This reminds me to watch out there though!

LOL, I wouldn't take that bet out this way. Way more wind after the sun sets last week or so, finally dies about an hour or two before sun rise.

Its supposed to be around 5 mph here. Cold airmass in place, with a glacier otg and clear skies, and the antithesis of UHI around here.. temps should tank.

I’ve been quite glad the kid hasn’t had to wait for a bus this week as I usually stand on the front porch until it arrives. Not fun when it’s single digits and dark lol
