Kick-Off '25-'26 Winter Storm Obs

Freezing line runs from about Waltham down to Wellesley to Needham to Sherborn to Medway to Bellingham....so basically just west of 128 and then gets to 495 down near Bellingham. Still below freezing here at 30.5F.

I had close to 3" when it let up.  Hopefully it'll fill in soon like the HRRR suggests. 

A few of the meso's were showing this type of whole for several runs yesterday/last night.  I had assumed it was just something that would disappear in later runs.  I'm holding my hat on the HRRR's depiction of it picking up within the hour.

The slp associated with this is still off the delmarva, What we've had so far is snow associated with warm air advection.

Temp profiles for the daytime seem to be totally off. Most the forecasts i watched were 38-40 during the day.  We are at.our warmest right now, 33. 3

850mb fronto really starting to kick into gear upstream as H8 works to close itself off. Heavy rates are likely to develop along the coastal front soon.

Central New England still doing nicely under some respectable H7 fronto delivering steady moderate snow

Had 0.7" (0.10" SWE) at 18z for PWM.  Maybe we crossed 1" by now but rates and growth have been putrid since it started at 12z.

Its just small snow grains right now, My call was 4-8" so i've hit that anyways.

Snow growth was good earlier when i was under that snow band.

I hope for you it doesn't, but it seems to be marching north. I just hope it remains below freezing at the surface. OF course I'm still holding hope it could bomb out but this system just lacks the dynamics.

Based on the last few weather tap scans, I might be back in business in a few minutes.  Kind of suddenly appeared rather than advanced north.

Very impressive band over Albany right now, this is likely more associated with the cyclone starting to get it's act together rather than the WAA forcing we've seen to this point
