Today’s weather was a dime…possibly the nicest day of the year.

Simply sublime. Wife and I went for a hike/walk around Beverly-Triton State Park and it was absolutely immaculate out. Temps in the mid-70s with a breeze off the Bay. Honestly couldn't ask for much better.

Great outdoor work wx but it's a dry dust bowl lol. Ran into a mom and some cubs today. There were 3 cubs but could only get 2 in a pic. I was about 100yds away. Black bears around here are curious but keep their distance... thankfully... lolScreenshot_20250914_165341_Gallery.thumb.jpg.bbb08101cb115fa5ea394f68dbb40e90.jpgScreenshot_20250914_165500_Gallery.thumb.jpg.eaca2452c2c6c3400b80a4600c570f4b.jpg

That’s awesome. They’re around in Frederick as well, but haven’t seen one biking yet…though did see one scurry across Hamburg Rd a couple years ago. Might have been the one that had been recently released.

Been seeing them a lot this year. Prob once a week. My son hit (and killed unfortunately) a young male driving back in July. I think the population must be up because there are reports of them getting into trash in more developed areas around smith mtn lake as well. There's a ton of undisturbed forest around here so frequent sightings must be part of a population increase. Deer have definitely boomed and a few too many coyotes are running around. Coyotes are the only animals that I wish weren't around. They will kill dogs and our dog will chase anything lol. Bears stay clear of dogs

Deer are all around the Frederick watershed as well. I’ve definitely almost hit a few of them. But honestly, there might have been more around my aunt and uncle’s place in Derwood back in the day. They were all over that part of Rock Creek.

Now that we're in CAM range, what really stands out to me is that this is going to me much more of a showery event than the rain shield I was expecting.

And spread out over 24-48 hours. Not much consistency on when it’s raining for the metro areas.

Traveling thru Turkey for 2-1/2 weeks before heading further south to the Greece island of Samos.

Talk about dry:  10 days ago in Istanbul it rained some. First rain there since May. Just my luck. :raining: Probably no more than 1/4”.   90 or higher every day there but nice cool nights 50s/60s by the time I reached Cappadocia region. Soot in the air, haze, and it just hangs along the mountains. Now am more south toward Greece in Selcuk, again no rain and 95 or better each day. You can almost taste the dust.

Worst part is I can’t watch three Ravens games. Even if I could have watched the Bills game (and am glad I missed it) …. it started at 3am Monday here.

Sounds like I picked a good week to travel to Syracuse. No rain threat until Friday up there
