Did anyone's gutters get overwhelmed?

I just fixed a pitching issue about a week ago and this is the first time it has rained since and today the rain overflowed and went right over the edge of the gutter.

It overflowed in an area where the roof, when looking at it from the front, is two triangles side to side with a dip in the middle. Where the dip is the water flows forward like a river toward the street facing gutter.

Now I'm wondering if the rain was just too much for any gutter to handle or if I still have a problem.

I didn't see any funnels but I definitely saw some rotation. Storm was maturing right over us.

If this started maturing say by new Brunswick instead of NYC metro, it could've been worse. It really wanted to (wind wise)

i think anvil rain helped rather than hurt this time. ewr wet bulbed to a 75 degree dewpoint right before the storm hit

Nice storm. Heavy rain lots of thunder and decent winds but nothing crazy

Getting quite a few cloud to ground strikes now

Yeah I talked to a neighbor when I got home from Seaside Heights tonight and he said there were lots of close lightning strikes. One of the best lightning events of the last few years. Fast moving storm though so it only dropped 0.32" here. At least it was enough to give things a watering. I can finally take a break from watering the vegetable garden tomorrow.

Hyperbole much? Wow. Subways have seen MUCH worse. But glad you enjoyed the storm

Man, may the day where you don’t get psyched but a huge thunderstorm maturing over you dumping loads of rain with frequent thunder and lightning never excite you never arrive.

Yesterday was the first time since July 2, 2021 that saw Newark and White Plains pick up 1" or more of rain, while JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Central Park had less than 1" of rain. It was the first time where Bridgeport received no precipitation when Newark and White Plains picked up 1" or more of rain, while JFK Airport, LaGuardia Airport, and Central Park had less than 1" of rain.
