I’m very happy with this eps run this far out. Yeah the mean is offshore, but there are quite a few very strong lows closer to the coast. Looks much better than the Euro OP.

And I only brought out the microscope to counter some premature (season-scarred?) worries last night.

We have a ways to go for both subtle shifts in large scale features and how the shortwaves interact, favorable or not.

Gotta keep the skills sharp.  Glad your household is on the mend.  Off topic but what was your final total in the last storm.  I didn’t measure at end but I decided 8.5 was a bit conservative based on what was there next morning

Nah, the worries were sincere. I can understand why people are shook by recent phantom storms, but this is a different setup and I don't think we've had as good a signal as this at this leadtime so far this season. I actually prefer the grazer look at this point.

Went through my household like a wrecking ball last week, despite 2 years of scrupulous caution.

Was scary initially, but all recovering now. Perhaps an extremely contagious yet milder variant is a blessing in the long run. Hope your wife feels better quickly.

My cousin is on a respirator and had dialysis yesterday from covid, also caught pneumonia which I think is typical. Not sure why he didn't get vaxed, didn't have to happen. Looks grim today.

Well, some of it was sarcastic. I get the interpretation differences with respect to the 00z ensemble suites, but the storm punting stuff was sarcastic. No question.
