Yeah 1998 saw local stations surpassing 80° for 5 straight days to end March.

And was it April 2012 or 2013 that featured some heat here?

My station saw 90°+ Temps on April 25th and 26th,  2009.... Then again in 2010 hit 92° on the 7th.... No April 90's for me since then.

Yeah I should have kept better records, though I know it got warm sometime around those years.

In the 80s now across NY metro. NWS with another great forecast. What's a 10 degree error on a <12 hr forecast?

Even worse they put out an update just after 3 that called for highs in the mid 70s. While it was 82-83

Really impressive for JFK to reach 81°in March. This was only the 3rd March to go above 80°. It was just 4 below the all-time March record high of 85° set in 1990.

72 and rising here, 80 me please.

Edit: 80. This has to be one of the most rapid non-precip induced temp changes I’ve seen.

This was one of the biggest 15 minute and 1 hour temperature rises that I have seen on the South Shore. Wantagh jumped from 65° to 80°in only 15 minutes. The hourly temperature jump was from 57° to 80°. So our weather extremes just keep coming.

I thought my home weather station was broken when I saw the spike.

How it looked at or near the peak T's at 4pm.            I reached 78*  at 3:45pm.     My low was 49* at 4am.        I  thought I heard Jones Beach was still in the 50's when NYC hit 80+.

March 1990  went like this    45/60,  43/85,  43/68,   42/77,   55/82,   53/72........started Mar. 12.      It snowed on April 07, 1990 and the next 80-Degree Day was April 23.

March 1998 went   56/83,  63/80.  62/81,   59/82,   66/86.      Started 3/27.         I think the next 80-Degree Day was May 15.

Very tight gradient between areas near 80 and areas near 70 on wunderground. Warmth still hasn't reached ISP.

Winds are roaring now.
