I'm still in until we lose the RPM

I remain hesitate to get excited about anything just yet. While I don't comment much on LR, I do skim it and it seems like all these promising threats the last couple weeks have gone poof in the short range.

GFS and Icon almost identical and neither is good for us.  Close though.

EDIT: GFS does show some frozen precip in our northern areas.

GFS shows it verbatim, but the surface temperatures are around 35.  I know this is over-analyzing something that is 8 days away.  Happy that it is close and curious to see what the follow up wave does the 28th

Para GFS looks much better

FWIW, one of the findings during the GFSv16 evaluation was that it handled cold air damming better than v15, possibly due to having more vertical levels.    It still won't be nearly as good as the NAM nest, which in my opinion handles damming the best of the models (and sometimes even overdoes it), but once synoptic disagreement is removed, I'd favor the v16 profiles over v15.
