Its like a winter version of a severe t storm. Driving 70mph under sunshine into a blizzard with no warning can cause some insane pileups. Lower manhattan is under it now. Just 15 mins. worth and it has to last about 2-weeks (in your mind) before a repeat or something better. I believe it was a more violent passage last Jan. for me, on this type of event.
