Is everyone here enjoying the chill? I had mine yesterday. 16 degree low, shattering all time October record low. Twas bliss

.

Difficult keeping the coffee hot this morning, with this chill in the air.  Nice to hear from you, and looking forward to your insights as the season progresses.

I like the large sprawling 1046mb HP in the Plains at 144 on the 12z EURO... hopefully we get more of those this winter.  850 temp analomies range from -5 to -15 late next week

Thanks! I look forward to getting back into the swing. Our spring was crazy and summer was hot and dry. Ready for some winter action. In the meantime, I'll enjoy my west Texas fall :)

Dew points hovering right around freezing on this lovely evening.

43/33 here.

Should be a frosty morning. Not sure about a freeze. More likely Sunday night here.

Wow...hh Gfs drops the deep January cold into the conus ( Barney colors+) at the end of the run . First flakes on the horizon :D

Yeah it develops a monstrous PNA ridge with multiple TPV lobes rotating down, then it drops the hammer and brings one down over the GLs at the end of the run.

Made it down to 27F.  Thick frost on the cars, and crunchy grass.  Beautiful stars early this morning as I was sitting on the patio enjoying hot coffee at 6 AM.  Last night was perfect weather for November.

Got down to 28 here, just outside the Tysons UHI - with 99% rh.  Already up to 29 now.  Thick frost on everything out in the open.  No frost near or under any of the trees, even those with no leaves.  Interesting how stark the contrast is between frost and no frost.
