Alright... Who stole our white out condition squall and gave us ice flows instead?

Moderately sunny pixie snow and blown off grill cover.  I guess that's the consolation prize.

No. The consolation prize is living with that view every day. Gorgeous.

Winds have really picked up out here. Temps are tanking like crazy. I am down to 19 from a high of 27. Has to be below zero wind chills right now. It is raw outside.

I was in Towson earlier today, and the temp was 32 when I left at 12:55. When I got home 15 minutes later, it was 19.

This squall was easily the most badass event of the season around here so far. It didn't last long, but it brought some of the lowest visibilities that I've ever seen in either a blizzard or snow squall. Right up there with Feb 10, 2010.

This was Padonia Rd right off 83.

+1.  I've experienced it twice this winter in upstate NY a couple of times I've driven instead of flying to VT.  First time(s) for me.  They are remarkable and worth the trip.

I grew up with them. While the East end of Lake Erie gets most of it, it also could ramp up on the West end.

Thank you so much for saying that.

We may regret not dropping the bubbler into the slip. We don't usually get packed ice in the cove...

Temp dropped from 34 to 28 when that line went through. Highest wind speed on our roof was 34 mph.

No squalls for you, Fort Belvoir...although, given that we got 10" of snow about two weeks ago and our friends north of the Beltway didn't, I can't bitch. It appears that today's squall line started to break apart once it hit the District and points south...I did snag the pic below looking southeast from the steps of my work building, of what appears to be the remnant backside of a dissipating snow shower. Impressive temp changes, though -- on the reporting station nearest my home in Kingstowne/Hayfield, went from a high of 36.3 degrees at 1:19 p.m. to 27.5 by 1:54 p.m.

I later had the chance to combine the clips I took into a video.
