Pouring pixie dust here.  Think it may be mixing with a little rain as well, can't be sure.  It's very slowly, but steadily adding up.  A bit over 2" now.  Temp has been hovering at 31 for 6+hrs.

I didn't realize it was in the low 30s over there.  It appears Moline is reporting 33.  We hit 28 earlier, but we're down to 21.

I was at 2.1 inches a half hour ago.

Yeah it's been a really wet snow.  Shortly after my last post it started pouring nice large dendrites as some bright bands have moved in.  It's adding up pretty nicely atm.  Still coming straight down.  The trees are caked up enough the limbs are sagging similar to a freezing rain event.  Could be some power outages in several hrs when the north winds pick up.

That's only the beginning. Lol. Man look at that baroclinic zone. Beautiful

I put it in the clipper thread where it belongs. I thought I was in there to begin with lol. Anyways, I'm at about 2.5" so far in IC and we have a really good band fixing to move in. We've got a really nice shot at a 6" snow.

3.2" as of 12:15am.  Seeing wild variations between rapid accumulating periods under the bright bands, and very slow rates outside of those.  Under the bright bands the flakes are considerably larger, and the snow just gushes down.  Outside of that it's a very weak-sauce pixie dust fest.  Temp has dropped back to 29 now, and the wind is starting to stir a bit.

Picked up probably 0.10" to 0.15" of freezing rain this morning, followed by a lot of rain that only froze on the pavement. Now we are seeing some fat flakes. I'm going with around 2" for here at home (Galesburg) before its all said and done later today. Not a blockbuster storm or even really that impressive, but its something I suppose. Onto later this week I guess...

Rained all night. It’s an absolute mess of ice, snow, and ponding out my way. Not even going to try the roads today. Sump pump kicking on every 5 minutes. Just awful

Just wait until it all freezes up again...

I'm kinda surprised how much ice is still on the pavement this morning. Truly truly a big mess, and only will get worse.

Around 6 inches down and now coming down heavy again. We had a nice rally band around the 4 a.m. hour that tipped the scales - school called off. Maybe we make a run at 8 inches based on what's still upstream.

Wonder if we switched to rain here overnight since you had quite a bit more

I got totally screwed by this dud.  I only have 3.8 inches.  I think I spent more time in dry pockets than in snow bands.  This was supposed to be the center of the heavy band.  The last two storms were expected to drop 6-8" here, but instead the two combined only dropped about 8".

There was alot of dry pockets in the bands here also

I hate to say anything for fear of messing it up, but Rockford has been a pretty good place to be, both this year and the last few seasons. We have wound up in the narrow jackpot bands a little more often than I would say statistical odds should support. Maybe climo is involved in a way I don’t understand. Building up a very nice snowpack, and the current model porn once again shows us in the heart of max accumulations over the upcoming period.

Storm total imby about 6” and continuing to accumulate.

This will by far be my favorite storm of the season! Likely will end with totals between 7-9 inches total. Went to bed last night around 10pm with heavy wet snow falling, and awoke to heavy wet snow still falling a few moments ago, looking like a perfect snow globe scene. All of this after being modeled way to far south for any decent snow up through the final hours. :snowing:
