I think the models are beginning to agree to some circumstances for our January 7-9th storm or storms.  First is that there will be two systems impacting us separately, as two different distinct shortwaves take center stage, unfortunately none of them will be too intense as they remain separate and influenced by the large boost in +PNA ridging out west, allowing our second disturbance to dig through the OH Valley and maybe come off the NJ coastline.  Key operational word is maybe.  I still believe the further we go into January, the better the odds will become for a major and powerful blizzard to hit the region, aka another Juno/Nemo situation on our hands.

Ithaca sounds similar to South Bend, where they get 79" per year...mostly nickels and dimes.  Generally squeaky-dry powder.  However, I did get to experience ground zero of the Cleveland Super Bomb in '78.
