There's a dry layer just under 700, but the near sfc dews in the 20's (and teens just above) from the NE is really the killer. Link to the tamdar soundings? Need to update my spreadsheet. SnowtoRain Posted December 9, 2018 Trace of snow in Easton, light snow for just over an hour, looks like the movement north stopped at Wye Mills to Denton.

SnowGolfBro Posted December 9, 2018 Pretty much done here in Montclair. Maybe 1-2 inches depending on where u measure. Came in hot and had promise but tapered off early
BlizzardNole Posted December 9, 2018 Just got a report from relatives in Leonardtown, St. Mary's County with 5 inches; just changed over to sleet. What an over-performer for central VA to far southern MD! The VDOT traffic cams for I-95 in and near Richmond are a hoot.

JakkelWx Posted December 9, 2018 Feels like a classic december evening where its just above freezing at 7 PM with the christmas lights on. edit: and a snowless ground. The radar returns seem to have halted just to the south.

DCTeacherman Posted December 10, 2018 Today brought us all one step closer...cmon! Missing a foot of snow in early December 75 miles to our south...wow.
southmdwatcher Posted December 10, 2018 We had steady moderate snow for a while here, now light snow and some sleet mixed. I measured 1.5 inches at about 445pm. maybe 2 inches or a bit more now....a win. Huge snow totals 40 to 60 miles south of here and basically nothing 5 to 10 miles north of here. wxdude64 Posted December 10, 2018 I JUST got home at 8, 1.5 hours for a normal 10 minute drive. This is just INCREDIBLE! I have 20.5 inches of snow on the day, 20 on the snowboard from 7 am (6:30)reading. It is STILL snowing but letting up. This is an epic fail on NWS, my forecast was 3-5 at 5, upped to 6-10 just before I left for work.

It’s too bad this is the only storm we’ll get this season too. You missed November and now missed this too. See you 19-20...I hear it’ll be epic.
