March 13-14 Storm Nowcasting/Obs

Recommended Posts

Radar trends over NC the next few hours are key.   That band that pokes north is going to be the western edge.

think it'll be snow by the time it makes it to DC?

DC will onset as a sleet/snow mix then go right over to  all snow and begin piling up especially on grassy surfaces. We have pretty good surface frigidization; once that sun goes down, DONT BE ON THE ROADS. The roads are cold, any sleet will act as a seeder ice matrix for the snow to act upon even more then the roads cave.

Temp and dews tumbling

41/21 now

You've been running 2-3 degrees warmer all day than the Wxbug near the Telegraph Rd Wegman's, FWIW.    (Still haven't replaced my own temperature sensor).

Completely overcast now in metropolitan hyattsville. Thick low clouds. Now at 39 degrees at closest weather bug station. That's down from 42 at 230pm. I hope that trend continues.

It's very lightly Snow/Sleeting in South Roanoke right now. I'm trying to Graupel with this. Heavy overcast clouds - 46 degrees. Sending burnt offerings to the snow gods.
