Pretty cool. Looks like the Arctic out there. Light, dusty snow. Temp 12 F and wind is out of the NW. 

I know many of us like to correlate surface temps with an air-masses "staying power" --better stated as inertia--but more often than not that's a poor generalization. Last night, when I arrived home from the movies and saw a temperature of 2F at 10:45 PM, with winds still light and alto stratus already rolling in, I really started to appreciate just how COLD this airmass was. By this observation alone, it's no surprise that these feeble waves will be hitting a brick wall in New England.
