I just wanted to let you guys know that after 3 years of unemployment, and 100's of resumes and applications I have finally landed a job...a good one. Many of you have known the struggles I faced of trying to get my own business's going during these 3 years, but the money being made was no where near enough to survive. Such is the nature of where I live and the field of work that I went to school for. As a licensed architect, there just is not a huge need for my services here. Trying to sell real estate has been helpful but again, not survivable income.

Hopefully this will be a positive in what was a sea of negative for so long.

Congrats Garth

Busy the past few days so not a lot of posting but here is an article about some of the local flooding yesterday:

http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2016/02/flash_flooding_from_overnight.html

Close to home the Green River and some tributary streams closed several of the routes from our neighborhood into town.  It was pretty awesome seeing 2-3' chinks of ice left behind on a local road after the Green River receded

Busy work week and I did not have my camera with me yesterday so apologize for no pics. .

We need to find one of those infomercials of "girls gone wild" on youtube and somehow edit it so the narrator int he video says "It's Ginxy Gone Wild!!" and edit his face into it and put images of BUFKIT and forecasted wave heights and flooding rivers that replaces the girls in the video.

I know we can figure out how to do that.

I can remember a couple girls I knew in high school popped up on one of those infomercials. It was always a trip to see someone you knew. So I guess Ginxy makes 3 faces I would recognize.  :lmao:

Lol at Ginx asking to have the funny GGW pic deleted. Come on man.. It's all in good fun. Everyone likes it.

The best thing about that pic are the articles on the magazine cover.

Its great. He keeps calling it porn. It's him in a bikini. How is that porn? The girls got a big kick out of it

Yeah, I was surprised he was as bent over that image as he was.  Young kids are hearing worse stuff on the radio than what the visuals and writings say on that image.  ...When you hear your teenage or younger child singing the song "Truffle Butter" out loud near you then you many want to rethink what your kids or grand kids are being exposed to.  That Ginx photo is just funny stuff.

If you want a quick background on the the reason the big wave tourney Ginxy and I were geeking out over is called the Eddie, here you go: http://www.hawaiimagazine.com/content/profound-significance-behind-%E2%80%98eddie-would-go%E2%80%99

Thanks for the story. I had heard of the competition somewhere before but didn't know much about it.

Congratulations, Garth--that is great news.  Do you need to relocated for it?

I dunno Chris. There were some pretty lame winters in the 1970s and 1980s. I just can't recall them. Lol

It is amazing that we will see the coldest DJF on record for most of SNE followed by a top 5 warmest

Pretty historically bad in his area since he didn't get hit that hard form the Feb 5th storm. There's no real good data for his immediate town/area, but I'd bet it is easily top 3 worst right now.

ORH is actually out of the top 10 worst winters for snowfall now even if they didn't get another flake. This year ranks 11th lowest on record.

It's true, and one cash-in luck job bomb and this winter is average.

I've been interpreting some local grown expectations being too high to be honest.  Boston is like - 4 or so ..maybe 9, which could make up for in a heart beat.  One more of those and it's actually above normal on that particular coastal location.

It seems it is easier now than ever to get a 15" deal and it make forgettable.  If ORH got that - heh, not such a bad winter. Just didn't happen in a timely fashion, perhaps.

However, as Will alluded to, WNE/ENY has been particularly snowless. I've only been here 8 years but the townies say this is unprecedented. Under 14" on the season here. Albany may be under10"? Bare ground in Savoy! That is truly impressive as it is the snow capital of SNE. It would have to be two warning events to get us near the Mendoza Line. Certainly not out of the question but I am cautiously skeptical. I'll have to check but I think it might be one year since NW MA has verified WSW.

Yeah, I was picking that conversation up in mid-stream.  I was speaking to just SNE.  ha.  to get everyone up to speed might take a bit more.

I don't think anyone would argue that expectations aside, this winter has a weird suckiness about it -
