You'll hear that sucking sound of the snow evaporating I anticipate having 15" or so at the stake Sunday morning, assuming I gain nothing tomorrow. Yesterday's mostly cloudy 43 didn't do much ripening - the five deer crossing the field when I got home after work barely scratched the surface of a very solid pack. We've gotten rid of the "fat" and now we have the meat of the snow left and just from my years experience and observations I know that patches of snow will be left. Otherwise, you can call me out on the call. BTW, it's still in the 40s here so I wouldn't call that ahead of schedule! What does that even mean? I drove through a wooded area around 1000' this morning and the snow was pretty solid in the woods. The deeper areas aren't going like parts of a yard.
