NavarreDon
We are up above freezing now with the sun peeking out. Amazing how fast the ice melts once the precip quit even before we got above 32.0°
calculus1
Roads are literally a skating rink here. I can't comment since I have yet to leave the house today. Working in education has its benefits! But this might make my decision easier regarding whether or not to go get a pizza for the family for dinner. Wanted to get something fun, but I also want to keep my car (and me) in one piece.
WilkesboroDude
I have not seen many 21 degree highs in my lifetime...23 in town. Amazing how the coldest day of the winter/year/years can happen when nobody predicts it.

Are you getting any lingering freezing drizzle over your way?
NCSNOW
Made it home. Roads are a skating rink. Only past a few people along the way. Most are off the roads wisely.
Poimen
I think we have gone over to mostly ZR here.
RockyKnob
Just when the ice started to really build up, the sleet returned. Thank goodness. Moderate sleet now.
Jet Stream Rider
Rather impressive moderate sleet at the moment. Not a bit of ZR mixed in. The sleet is accumulating some too. Even on the roads. 27F.
burgertime
Mainly sleet here in CLT...brother over in Kings Mountain says roads are very icy here. That sleet is the saving grace as many others have said.
NCWX
28, and mod sleet and rain.
Brick Tamland
Have to wonder if the roads will actually be worse in the morning if the ice lingers around for a coupld more hours and it doesn't get above freezing tonight.
Busick
I am just impressed at the fact the temperature here has not risen above 23 degrees all day! just a Icy mess outside around .10 of Ice and 2/10 of sleet. Not a big event, but I think this one will be remembered for the temperature and not really the precip.
CoolBreeze
I'm glad this turned out to be a good bit of sleet instead of ZR. Now that it's winding down in the Triad, was there more WAA than was progged which turned the Triad's snow/sleet to sleet/ZR? Trying to learn from this ... TIA... -Oops - meant to post this in the discussion thread, but if anyone can provide some explanation, it's much appreciated !
NCStateMMY
Moderate sleet now.
RaleighWx
Still a healthy bit of sleet mixed in, probably 50/50 sleet and freezing rain. The sleet definitely saved this from being a pretty good problem around the Triangle. Probably will get to 0.1 ice glaze by the end of the storm. Should avoid major power/tree limb issues. JQPublic
went from mostly freezing rain to mostly sleet in the past 15 mins. The roads in my neighborhood are becoming ice-covered.
Cold Rain
Been pretty much all sleet here in SE Wake for about the last 45-60 minutes.
eyewall
All sleet here probably 0.1" for this storm between glaze and IP accumulation.
superjames1992
Radar seems to indicate that the precip has moved past, but we still have some lingering sleet here, so it's not over yet.
Moonhowl
Sun is out in Asheville; ice on my elevated deck has now melted; it is over; lets get some snow on the next one!
superjames1992
Looks like northeastern NC and southeastern VA were the real winners for this one as far as snowfall goes. Looks like some of those areas eclipsed an inch.
NC Snow
All snow here. Ground turning white.
wake4est
Almost all sleet since the main wave moved through here in SW Wake County. Roads are gross.
CLTwx
Drive from Midtown Charlotte (Uptown) to SW Charlotte on I-77 and I-485 was ridiculous. Wrecks everywhere. Skating rink.
NEGa
25 with light freezing rain/drizzle on and off. looks like about .10" ice - not bad but certainly not great lol. was hoping for at least a little heavier burst and enough to see easily on the trees. roads, decks, etc are all completely glazed over (nothing moving in town from what i could not hear a few minutes ago out side haha) but just didnt have enough qpf to get a really decent icing event. Brick Tamland
Sleeting like crazy here. The ground and road is covered, looks like snow, but it's all ice.
Cold Rain
This is a really good little storm. Finally something without having marginal temps. ZR mixed with the IP now.

Shawn
Pretty nice little sleet storm mixed with some rain here in Lexington (close to CAE) currently. Then the moisture is gone. Surface is 1 degree above freezing. =]
packbacker
This is a really good little storm. Finally something without having marginal temps. ZR mixed with the IP now. Agreed! Great little event, now if we can somehow manufacture a 3-5" snow event this would be a great winter for are area. Although snow events have been hard to find for the east coast, the MA and NE are really struggling to do anything.
