we lost power in New City Rockland  briefly at 4 am but it came back quickly,,,,,,,I am not sure how far inland that the winds will be an issue but looking at the radar it appears to me that the moisture is getting pretty far to my west

Oh your a troll,  surprise you're allowed to post here.  Yeah roads nearly gone, with photos of it actually happening.  Half of fire island is still without power it shows on pseg map, that's a lot for a tiny island, Scanner report from Bronx?  Bronx was about death from tree, news article. I'm a first responder i have endless access to information most don't. Yeah early on  had not reached 40 mph yet on the north shore, that's just called observational reporting. Before that I was helping look at model runs, analyzing them and relaying what was seen here.

Anyway,  in other news pseg long island is struggling badly,  we'll over 22,000 people without power ruby now with well over 1,000 active individual outages!  

Looking at tide forecasts, we still have 1 big tide to go it looks like.

Strongest winds appear to be across Long Island and Connecticut now with gusts in the mid-upper 40s mph range. 44 mph at JFK and 49 mph at Farmingdale. This is based off of the 6am NWS Obs roundup.

Winds were stronger last night, but this is the strongest they've been during part 2 of the storm (well around 6 am its dying down a bit now). Haven't seen any gusts that justified the hww overnight

Like I said, we cancelled none in NYC yesterday. And 31, over the course of the day is as good as it will get with marginal weather.

The FAA is planning delays at JFK and EWR for wind later this afternoon.

 

LGA, at a more normal schedule today, it already running delays  with single runways ops. Todays schedule needs 2 runways

As long as the worst weather stays to the overnight hours, the weather forecasted for the day will not lead to mass cancellations. It just isnt bad enough or slowing things down enough
