The expected rainfall rate is 0.5 to 1.5 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

no convection at all here in north central NJ - also the whole mess is moving east fast back edge near Allentown

PIX11 predicting 1-2" of rain for the City and Long Island through tonight. That's an irresponsible forecast based on the models. Wouldn't be surprised if somebody ends up with 7" somewhere, with a widespread 3-4".

Also: absolutely pouring in western Brooklyn. Probably already at 1.5"+.

At 618 PM EDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located over Dover Speedway, or over Dover, moving northeast at 30 mph. Damage from the tornado has been reported in Dover.
