This definitely a step up from your low to mid 90s heat wave. I live 11 miles sw of Boston and the high for these 2 days has been 97. Comparing Boston temperatures to the 40's ignores the massive heat island effect of all those skyscrapers built since then.

Even with the heat island effect BOS hasn't done back to back 100 degree days. So it would seem pretty significant to me event if land use has changed in that time. 2

Unless they are impeding on your house and possible storm damage. I drive through Maine and see acres of clear cuts for panels. Its gross. On top of commercial buildings, land fills, desert or other wastelands, fine. Edit.. I will add open hayfields to the ban. There's no plan to cut for the solar panels. I was trying to get ahead of anyone who might suggest that we cut some trees to improve our solar production. They provide valuable shade, etc.

Technically a record for MHT (but that database is in shambles), but nothing for CON or PWM and tied at AUG. Heat definitely dropping off to "near-record" farther northeast. I was blaming it on that outflow waste that poured through the area overnight and tho I feel there's some value there, I'm also noticing the rim of the core/tallest heights arrived on the 12z sounding S of the guidance mean leading prior to today. So we were duped a bit ... These are minoring issue and probably don't account for very much ...but the difference between 97 and 102 really isn't that much, either. But it could be enough to have cost us that much of a fake out. I'm wondering if tomorrow goes ahead and stalls at 94 ?

Those multiple rounds that moved through last night seemed much more developed than any model had, even short term.

But it's always been their biggest struggle. Remnant MCV-type initiation. 1
