How do scientists explicitly account for urban heat when measuring Earth's global temperature to ensure that local heat islands do not skew data on global climate trends?

Why are we bending over backward. The heat island is part of man made warming. It exists. It’s real and part of our warming world

That May heat was still hotter.   But today felt amazing

You’ve come full Circle and we are very proud . Eventually the dews and heat become something every single person covets in the summer . This is summer and we welcome you to the team !

You mean how do we monitor surface temperatures as if there weren’t 7 billion humans building stuff all over the world?

Oh, I love it once school is done.  That was never an issue (at least as not since I changed careers).  I don’t want it in Napril and Mayorch and the first part of Junorch

Ultimately, humans are highly concentrated, living on less than 1% of the total habitable space. Heat islands are a thing. Shit NWS allows 2 degree drifts in ASOS meant for planes but quoted as climo. Earth is warming but individual days mean nothing

Toss silly Euro Timmy Might be a few scattered showers and humid, but no washouts or anything remotely similar

Long range ensemble guidance is in good agreement in the upper

level ridge breaking down and a tendency towards lower heights

next week. This will bring an end to the extreme heat, with

readings more in line with typical summer. Guidance is also

increasing PoP towards Tue as a weak upper low drifts or opens

up as it crosses the region. Precip chances remain low

confidence however, with large spread between the 25th and 75th

percentile QPF.

Oh yeah, but I’m just saying where people live those temperatures are real to them.  Heat islands are absolutely a thing but those temperatures are what are being felt too by millions and millions of people.

See Legros post earlier this afternoon regarding this

Of course but actually even in cities just outside downtowns temps are cooler especially with vegetation. The original post you responded to asked a valid question

But that’s where the airports usually are where temperature records are often taken, no?  Just playing devils advocate.

Exactly.  And I have seen no pertinent comment that answers it other than snark.
