CAMs are all over the place. RRFS is gung ho (the MPAS version not the FV3) but others are nil. I have to think something pops before the heat is gone. Rarely does it go out with a whimper.

Really ...

I've come to find that heat goes out with a bang more so when it is tied up with a frontal/warm sector.

This is broadly synoptic in scale - I may certainly be wrong but just my impression over the years, when the ridges doing these heat wave ordeals deflate, the heat does in fact leave quietly.   Then, some front comes along after the fact ...

interesting

stuck at 98.

Yeah, Greenfield has sort of peaked out around 96 - 98.  My house has a high of 95° so far but downtown 97°.
It’s been very breezy so that might have something to do with it.

Even though it is hot as hell, I’m sure there’s probably a few posters who are angered by the wind because it has not allowed us to achieve ultimate peak heat indexes.

I do think this will act a little more backdoor on Saturday, which is going to limit convergence along the boundary vs a traditional cold front.

If we come out of this whole  thing completely stein with .10 and a dry next 7-10 days overall .. it is gonna be ugly( Euro faux soaker Monday tossed) little to no support

Those amounts are definitely on the tail of the QPF spectrum. Looks equally likely to be nothing as a gentle summer rain.

Euro loves to do this in summer , people get all excited for soaker  and then it vanishes faster than a plate full of stuffing on Scooter’s Tgiving plate.

Oh, it’s been breezy here since noon.
I mean, it’s not like it’s bringing that much relief.  Downtown Greenfield is close to 100° now.

Sitting on a friends porch in the shade and the wind definitely helps a little.
Maybe I’m wrong but yesterday seemed more humid?
