I know someone who owns the panels on his home. A couple of years ago he put the home up for sale...one slight problem lol....the roof was 28 years old. It’s not good form to put panels on an old roof.  I would not do that and recommend against that.

it’s not a big deal to pay someone to fix things a buyer requests when selling a house.  I wouldn’t buy a house that needed a roof without factoring the roof replacement cost into the purchase price.

i also agree that forests should not be clear cut for industrial solar power generation, but property rights folks might disagree with that.

Some big wind coming your way… probably right on the county line at Lawn Rangers and that area on the high spot of RT 100.

Just came over the spine and accelerated ESE.

Hey all... long time lurker, but decided to take the plunge and create an account. I live in Philadelphia, am a Psychology and History teacher for Philly public schools (just finished my 29th year)... I more or less look at the Philly forum, the NYC forum, and yours... the people in Philly do not post nearly as much as those in the NYC and New England forums do... in any event, I have learned a lot by reading your posts (Typhoon Tip, I have always found yours very informative) and hope to learn more. The weather has always interested me since I was a kid growing up in Wisconsin... between the severe weather we experienced in the spring/summer and the snowstorms we had (especially when I was a kid in the 1970's)... I think these things were the "spark" so to speak. 

"Anywho"... hope everyone stays cool... was 97  here today with peak HI of 110. Definitely NOT looking forward to the 105 forecasted for tomorrow, the 103 for Friday and the 101 for the 4th. The heat, the concrete... Oy, it's stifling!

Ha, that wasn’t enough to flip the tables.

I’m usually pretty reserved with obs, but that felt legit.  Probably 40-50mph at max.  Likely low to mid 40s… I think 50+ would’ve done more of these trees in our in the open.  And 40-45mph here would fit with the 2-3k feet velocity scans of 55-65mph.

But that was a solid downburst… whole trees swaying and bending for about 30 seconds in a whiteout.  30 seconds of mayhem.

That’s right where the NAM had that.  Convective initialization ftw 

 

The NAM has been kicking ass this week with convection (not just these parts). NAM doing what it was designed to do! Going to be a big loss when it’s gone when it comes to convective forecasting (and CAD)

Just got in from dinner at Matunuck in Wakefield. Car said it was 68 and some of the girls were complaining it was windy and cold under the tent. 

High was 74 at my Wunderground station on Judith.

It was loud and flashy when it rolled through here. Some pretty heavy rain too.
