I didn’t either and glad I looked at the radar.  Gave me 5 mins to close my sunroof.  Just heard thunder, but think I’m gonna miss this next cell.

Two nice little cells came through. Second one was raining with the sun out. Looked to the East and had a beautiful double rainbow. Mr. J was driving home with his top down and had to pull it up as he got into the neighborhood.

Don't fret the AN temps. April 2002 had a similar period with temps in the 90's if I recall. All I remember is that it was particularly miserable thanks to poison ivy I was enjoying at the time. Ughhh

On the bike ride home this eve. Not raining, but enough moisture in the atmosphere at sunset?

Nearly half and inch of rain across portions of far northern Frederick County, as well as Carroll and Baltimore counties. Yet the two and four inch soil moisture values barely moved  on any of the mesonet stations in this area. It really goes to show you how thirsty the vegetation is right now.

Hugely lucky to have those two rounds of storms hit the farm in Fallston pretty flush. Really needed that bolt of fortune for the kinds of reasons EJ noted....

We don't need a flood, just a steady and soaking rain that totals about 1.5" regionwide. You could parse it out about 0.1" - 0.2" per hour over several hours.

There was definitely enough moisture to get me pretty wet on my bike ride last night.  It actually felt pretty good considering how hot it was.

Had those two nice pop ups early in the evening down here in SW FredCo. And caught the tail end of that line to my north. Got 0.07” not much but will take what we can get at this point. Currently at 1.21” for the month.
