What model do you think performed best?
It looked to me like the NAM picked up on the sharp cutoffs to the west and the 10" I have here are maybe a bit over what it's last couple of runs showed for western NJ, but definitely within the range.

The NAM did well, it was obviously way overdone in a lot of places (especially northwest of here, where it definitely failed for many runs). But even its extreme solutions were closer to reality than the way underdone rgem and earlier euro runs.

Yup.  Might be my imagination, but there seems to be some kind of voodoo that gets us in the largest storms. At least it's still a lot of snow.

its happened to me too many times; those great long island storms in 2018 largely left me with crumbs....only one hit in late march...and the island got smoked with the jersey shore....

Take it easy and stay safe.  Its a wet base/powder mix really.

Need to heed my own advice, I'm due for back/neck surgery on Thursday.  Just glad this monster came before and not during/right after.

I think we finished here with 16”. Really fun storm, too. Not nearly our largest, but I do love the ones where we don’t think it’s coming and then a few days before, there’s an, “Oopsie. We lied.”

It’s like once you go over a foot or 90°, it’s a lot of snow or it’s hot. This was a lot and I’m looking forward to seeing the drifts when I go clear out.

Photo is from 1:45 am and 6 am. You can see a little bit of drifting over the previously clear roof.

As of 10 am, we're up to roughly 21.8", as we got 2" over the last 2 hours with a period in there of near whiteout conditions for about 10-15 minutes. What a storm! Oddly, snowfall has been light the past 10-15 minutes despite the radar looking good (no idea why - supposedly we could get another inch or two, but kind of doubting that). Up to 30F and the winds are now pretty light.

Great, glad we agree!

Love the fact that we have guys like RU..., weatherpruf, blizzardo also in the area. Fun to check totals against others.
In marginal temperature situations, places like Metuchen and Colonia almost always get more than me down by the Raritan Bay.
