OBS: 1/25-26 Snow/Sleet

Welp that can’t be right lol, the wind is more prominent than expected and it’s been quite a lot of blowing snow. Just made it back home after Seaside, where a pretty significant surge of ZR hit. I believe something is going on with the bridge into Seaside.

Can confirm sleet mixing in on UWS. Measured 8” OTG at 1:45.

Sleet has begun in Astoria. Measured 8 inches of snow total on the dot, but that may be a slight under measurement since I think part of patio may be shielded above.

Upton calling for an additional 5-11” here based off their warning. I’d lean to the lower end.

Your def over 9 inches. Im nw of you and im over 10 nearing 11.

Little over 8” here. Probably finish with 9” or so before sleet. It’s dumping but at most I have 45 minutes. No huge aggregates yet which is usually the sign it’s here.

Can pick up the sleet line better on Mt Holly radar. Looks like it’s about at JFK to the Southern State. There’s a precip hole over southern Nassau which is helping it along.

Heavy sleet now as we get into the heavier echos (no snow as far as I can see) with a temperature of 16 degrees. This should continue for at least a few more hours.

Went back to a 50/50 mix of sleet and snow.

Sleet mixing in since 1 pm, now mostly a fine sleet.

8.5 inches.  A period of heavy snowfall from 7:30 am until 1 pm. 16 F.

Central Park 7.2 inches as of 1:00 pm, sounds reasonable.

Where they will drop the ball is not measuring between now and 7 PM when the change to sleet occurs. We shall see, maybe they surprise us today.

Its unlikely I think they'd add more than 1-2 more inches anyway, though they probably did get an inch from 1-2pm

Its probably over 8 by now.
