This is the most intense sleeting of the storm so far in Gaithersburg.

It's absolutely ridiculous. It's like a thunderstorm out there but sleet.

All of the roads that have been plowed and the parking lot of my townhome complex is now white again but with billions of icy little beads.

Go out there and try kicking it a little. It isn't like snow. It's literally like kicking beads. It moves almost in a liquid way. Its so cool.

And models say I still have like 2" of this to fall, on top of the 1.8" sleet I already have.

It is sleet STORMING out here in Gaithersburg. An absolute shellacking of a sleet downpour.

not sure where in Gaithersburg you are, but after shoveling my driveway just as the flip to sleet occurred over here just west of Laytonsville (a few miles north of the airpark), I just went back out again and had to shovel close to 2"+ of sleet... that was much harder than the 6"+ of light powder.  In a couple of hours I'll have to do it all over again with the rate of sleet falling now.  At least I didn't wait until it was all over - 3-4" of sleet might be too much for this OF to get rid of.

Is the sleet pouring out of anyone else’s gutters and making massive drifts?? This is crazy, I have like 3 foot drift of sleet on my back porch!

I’ve lived here my whole life and I’ve never seen it sleet this hard for this long

West side of Gaithersburg, and it sounds like we are dealing with the same amount of snow and sleet. And it's looking like we have quite a bit more to go. Yes, this stuff is HARD to shovel. Never been so happy to live in a development that does the shoveling for me.

Yes!  It put a pile in front of the garage which my snowblower really choked on.  Glad I moved it or we'd have had a big ice speed bump at the entrance of our garage for two weeks LOL

Yes it is. I'm outta shape so trudging through half a block was exercise, lol

You think that’s hard? I walked five miles today in the snow/sleet to get to my friend’s house and back.
