I got a couple of hours of seeder-generated powder snow after flipping to sleet. That CAD is some serious business.

Pretty out. While the flakes look tiny when I actually go to the window to look it is snowing pretty decent. Looking at the tops of cars guessing about 5” out there. A lot of it is blowing around. Temp is 12 and the dew point is out of the negatives and currently is 10.6.

I think if the Culpeper people are reporting mixing back to snow I think we might be in wintry mix mode for the better part of the morning, rate dependent.

More like 70/30 sleet/snow now.

Changeover in progress, about 5 inches down.  Heavy snow sleet mix.

Yeah I raised an eyebrow at that. My measure is not very scientific but snow was easily past the knuckle of my index finger at 7-7:15am lol.

Good luck folks down there by DC. I hope it stays sleet and does not go to ZR. HRRR shows 3-4 hours of pretty heavy ZR accumulation to near .25"

Hi, yes. It was. Both the Towson and Baltimore boards were slightly under-calibrated. I went in and took the beginning depth manually and re-adjusted. They are reading closer to correctly now. Please keep in mind that the sensors are only reasonably accurate to +/- 1".

Here is the Towson Time series where you can see I made the adjustment via the big jump at about 7:15a

5” snow and flip happened right at 7am. Pouring sleet.  A little sad I didn’t get to 6” but whatever. 
 

It will be a big sleet bomb storm that is rare here

Funny enough I literally just woke up, haha And wow...it is absolutely gorgeous out! Man it is gorgeous out...and without perhaps 2-3 hours left of snow, I think it's safe to say...

Back to heavy snow in Gaithersburg, no sleet, CC lines moved back south quite a bit from us!

It is so pretty out, a little windier than I thought. I’m sure whatever this mix is it’s still accumulating at least.
