The fire would be a nice sound. Have put that on before on YouTube and fallen asleep on the couch. I find the thunderstorms help my brain to focus on just falling asleep.

In Buda, Texas, Northerly breezes up to 37 mph have dropped temperatures 30 degrees down from our earlier highs in the mid 60s. At this rate we will be subfreezing by 7am. Rain will be freezing on every surface down here. It will then proceed to drop all day Saturday, into the teens Saturday night with persistent ZR. This storm may end as snow here Sunday.

Next weekend another storm and trough will bring yet another round of rain, ZR, sleet and even snow to Austin Texas.

Is this Texas or Northern Virginia?

I refused to sign a TW agreement. Why would I enter into one that only benefits the employer? Snow day for me! Hopefully we get at least a delay Tuesday as well.

It is crazy…..my bill due in February is probably 50% higher than I’ve ever had in my place, which I’ve been in for 15 years.

Rates have gone way up. And for reasons I don’t understand, other suppliers have totally pulled out of the market.

Maryland passed legislation a year or so ago that all but shut out other suppliers.

I’ll be honest, if Baltimore fails to get 6 inches of snow again I’ll be pretty bummed. I know that technically it would count as verified warning since sleet goes in the snow bucket for measurements and would bring things above the mark, but in my heart I know it would have been a missed opportunity. Really hope that wet, high ratio goodness the euro is spitting out comes to fruition.

Its not any better with delmarva. There was outrage last year, people ain't seen nothing yet. Im betting bills are going to easily be over $1000 a month for many. 

 

Some days its so bad, its actually cheaper to go stay in a hotel than it is to heat your house.

We spent NYE at the Mt Washington hotel last year.  Such a beautiful area up there, thankfully it wasn’t quite that cold

This is looking like PA’s storm. Several hours of snow turning into sleet is definitely not what I signed up for. Hope that’s not the final outcome because it would be stupid after all this tracking lol.

All these northern stream systems and hardly anything in the way of clippers that give us those 1-3/2-4” events is a serious hint as to why we’re struggling to get flush hits here. Maybe it really comes down to a lack of downstream blocking/-nao.
