It’s good!

it’s bad!

it’s gooder than earlier!

it’s worser than earlier!

It’s more amped!

it’s less amped!

it’s a hair south!

it’s a hair north!

good stuff in the main thread. Totally clear.

Any way to restrict that thread to mods, red taggers and a few select extra learned non-red taggers?

We're mostly adults.  We can restrain ourselves.

There is a real chance that many of us get more precipitation as sleet than snow, and that sucks.

I swear to God...if MN posts radar screengrabs of the correlation coefficient while this storm is going on, I'm going to find his house and egg it, then I'm going to pelt it with iceballs.

Don't do it, man...

Appreciate all the responses from my little inquiry on hosting me out towards your area, or helping with designating where to stay if I were to chase out that direction.

Looks like some friends of mine out by Martinsburg said they would love to host me, so I think that’s the route that I’ll end up going. I’ll confer later today, but again, I appreciate the responses and warm welcome (Clskinfan) to your home. Should be a fun storm with a heck of a front end thump, at the very least for your areas. Enjoy!! :)

 have fun!

Guys I've achieved true weeniedom.

I've cancelled a trip that I was going on this weekend to Montana just to stay here for the snow.

Montana's got zero snow for the next like 10 days where I was going. I go there regularly so it's not a huge deal, but... literally here altering plans over major storms.

I apologize in advance if I ruin the storm because of this. If so you can blame me.

To be fair, I was also worried about the dog watcher not being able to get to my house, but that's just an excuse.

we are hoping/planning to retire someplace warm, but will keep the option of coming back to DC for big snowstorms because they're just more fun in places where they are rarer.

I have rated this storm a 2 baked good storm. Gluten Free shortbread lemon bars and some classic chocolate chip cookies, GF of course. Getting the ingredients this morning. Will need the power ups as we have lost our child labor for clearing snow.

i'm not a baker (but I do have the stuff for an emergency batch of chocolate chip cookies if necessary) so I have loaded up with Girl Scout cookies.

but I do love to cook and am set to make some post roast and a crown pork rib roast.

Just ran to the grocery store. It was complete madness. :) All I really needed was beer and hot dog buns ffs. Picked up 2 six packs of New Belgium trippel. Gonna be tuned up on Sunday watching the the snow dump and Championship Games. I imagine my shoveling skills are going to deteriorate about as fast as the roads out here. :)

Agreed.  I'd want at least a couple of inches of snow under the layer of ice, otherwise you have no chance of getting it clear...it will be a nightmare regardless...i'll probably just wait for it to end tho...

Yes, leaving a bottom layer of snow is the way, if you're going to shovel during the storm. "Just wait for it to end" is what I've mostly done in the past. Probably would drive some people crazy and maybe it's not the most efficient but I like to see the full marshmallow effect and am ok with just one big shoveling.

You're in a good spot for this one.  I hope you get 18 inches.  I'll be happy with my 6-10+ plus ice.

Your dinner sounds like comfort food. Will be nice and warm.

Just did a grocery store run. Mind you it is my normal run for the week as we just needed food. Aldi was a zoo at 9 am. My other store of choice is our local Co-op and it was nice and quiet. Have a Giant pick up order in for an 11-12 pick up time and I still have not heard from them yet to pick up. Hoping in the next 10-15 min as I have the HVAC folks stoping in to check the Humidifier on the house with a 12-4 time slot.

I like to stack up my driveway walls as the storm happens. Plus I just like being out in the snow. Especially when it is going to be 10 degrees while its coming down.

That was an interesting shift from what it had been saying. I like the WV Panhandle for this one. You’ll get a nice glimpse of life out there in these scenarios. Like to hold on longer for snow and WAA regimes usually come in hot and heavy. Enjoy!! :snowwindow:
