It's light rain in Manhattan

Light snow here in Queens. More like white rain but sticking to grass and car tops. I think Manhattan will definitely come in with the lower side of the 3 inches, barely. Our urban heat Island is notorious for making snow totals sometimes a few inches less than surrounding areas

If it’s still rain within 1 hour, I’d definitely start looking at the low end of the projections for Manhattan. Still in the mid 30s over there, that won’t cut it until there’s heavier precipitation

It's been all snow in southern Manhattan from the start.

I guess you haven't been following the models. The heavier stuff is supposed to come in during the night.

Its 33 here in Brooklyn.

It hasn’t started yet

Yes it has - as sleet  I'm just saying it looks awful wet out there right now, it may cut down on higher totals. We shall see.

Just IMO, Sunday is going to turn into glorified arctic FROPA. I think the setup is not good for a coastal storm…positively tilted trough, raging fast flow, progressive, forward lean PNA ridge, no “traffic”/block in the Atlantic to slow the flow down and cause a jam so a wave can form, deepen and come up the coast. Snow showers, squalls, etc…..coatings/dustings up to an inch? Sure. A coastal low forming, slowing down, deepening and coming up the benchmark? I’m not seeing it. If I’m wrong, tear me to bits on Monday morning

Woke up to see we are halfway to meeting snow totals from New Orleans last year.

He said to tear him to bits on Monday morning, not Sunday morning so you’re just being mean now.

Good morning all. Rob my snow gauge is now definitively an old man’s gauge, barely an inch. Even so, despite the too warm ground and lower few feet of atmosphere, what fell and stayed defined a peace and beauty of its own. Stay well as always ….
