@dendrite Not sure if you follow this at all but I've seen your posts regarding trees and figured it may be of interest:

I love ginko trees. The late leaf drop is interesting. Hopefully the tree is okay. I’d plant one here, but I already have too many other trees…not much room between the fruiting trees, chestnuts, and butternuts/hickories.

This is my favorite wxstar 4000 simulator. There’s a lot of customization.

An air quality alert and cold weather advisory for wind chills up to -55. Currently -27 at the airport. Vodka cold.

Boy, I sure do hope they find relief with a big ridge over their head sometime around Christmas.

I don’t take much notice of Fairbanks temps until they hit that magical -40° mark. Of course that’s with calm conditions.

Any of the Hickory nuts from Nashville survive?

I hear ya and don’t necessarily disagree. But they aren’t invasive (aggressive) and don’t spread their seed far so a single tree isn’t really hurting the ecosystem much. If I could only plant a couple of trees it would be native ones, but if I had a large enough property and more room for trees than I knew what to do with I’d possibly plant one. They’re fairly useless for wildlife though.

Big fire a few homes up from me this morning. Not sure how many “alarms” it was, but I saw a Laconia truck there too. Looks like 2 people and 2 dogs displaced…tough time with the cold and holiday season. Awful.

That's sad man.

Well two houses up in your neighborhood unless you’re shut ins you should have some kind of relationship and have checked in

I barely talk to my next door neighbors…nevermind 3 houses up.
