weatherwiz
flakes size improving here a bit. continuing to come down nicely. This is the best part of winter, just sitting at the computer looking out the big glass door window and watching the snow fall. 1

I did ... or proposed the band of ZR idea, yesterday. Not surprising for me. It's a 'reasonable' sort of compromise on insisting a 20F DP event-entrance air mass clung to the surface being perhaps too quickly phase changed to straight rain by the models. 1200' to sfc doesn't modulate that fast with flow rates less than 22kts at the boundary pause ( the level where surface drag finally fades to free air/laminar motion). That's an old index finger rule velocity for scouring out dammed air.
ORH_wxman
There's actually a pretty nice cross-hair sig in that little CCB ending for central/Eastern MA late this evening on some of the mesos....if things break right, might see a nice 3 hour burst or so.
