Just looking at the euro, 925 is actually out of the SW prior to the storm. Gets it to near 1c. Feel like any snow is at the tail end around here when it drops to near freezing.

Been chatting with a friend who lives in Glencoe and watching the bands on radar trying to give him a sense of how much they’re going to end up with.  Maybe an hour or two ago he told me there was three or 4 inches and I told him they would probably end up around eight or 10 inches.

Yeah we just drove to Evanston. I think 8-10 is a good bet with the long duration of the event.  We’ll be having dinner in town Monday night for my birthday with maybe 1-3 inches expected from the next system.

I remember maybe about 15 years ago when I lived up in East longmeadow Mass, there was like a 3 to 4 nights where we had snow on and off. I loved every minute of it!

ECMWF LR pattern looks a lot better than the GFS as @ORH_wxman outlined yesterday. It shows low heights rotating through the Aluetians with +PNA ridge underneath:

Good news is the EPS has been manhandling the GEFS for the early December period. GEFS has been caving to EPS when it gets to like D10-11-12. Hopefully that continues because EPS looks really good. Even popping western ridging week 2 where a more substantial system could develop in that look.

Weeklies are cold through mid January. What a pattern projected
