Ground stops at JFK, LGA and EWR due to rain, lightning.
C, B lines suspended. Q part suspended, A,E,D, F,M "severe delays". N,R,W are experiencing delays. Rest of the subways are on or close to schedule.

Oyster Bay, Montauk LIRR lines are experiencing delays. As noted above Port Washington line suspended due to flooding.

Islip has seen 1" or more of rain for the second consecutive hour. The daily rainfall has reached 2.69", which breaks the record of 2.20" from 1996. Flash flooding is very likely occurring in parts of Suffolk County.

I have maybe 0.25". Big yawn IMBY. Maybe some more overnight. I'll be lucky if it ends up over 0.5" and no sprinklers needed tomorrow.

Eh…I’m not sure we get much at this stage.  I just fearlessly walked the dog without an umbrella.  It’s a bit humid is all.  Not over yet, but this isn’t our show.

Yeah agreed. It looked earlier some of the western portion would make it into our area. However we do have some rain over eastern pa pushing east so we will see what we get out of that

This is one of the instances where there's a large difference in rain totals between my location and ISP which is under .5 miles from me.  I'm in southern Holbrook.

for all those heavy echoes it didn't rain all that hard here but it did rain for 3 hours and we ended up with 1.5 inches about the same as last time

Was in Manhasset area for work during the deluge. Was insanity. Everything flooded. Highways closed. Cars stranded. 
Reminded me of Ida. 4”-6” of rain in 2-3 hours.

I only received .30” on my weather station in Whitestone, Queens. A few miles east of me from Douglaston to Port Washington received 4”-6”.

Yes. August 13, 2014. Islip had 13.51" of rain. Bridgeport had 1.66", Central Park had 0.53", JFK Airport had 2.92"; LaGuardia Airport had 0.78", and Newark had 0.34".
