Typhoon Tip
this type of pattern appears to be a favored return state up to this point, this summer... This is the 12z ICON, which by no means is being used here as a formal position matters ... But, I don't think this summer's going for an early release so long as this keep manifesting in the runs. We'll see what the 12z's do here in a bit, but at least in so far as next week is concerned, some recent runs of both the ECM and GFS have periodically demoed something similar.

Mother f'rs start raising their wings preparing for attack. Hate hornets. We had a painter finish some touch ups 25' up on ladder. I'm sure there were some flying around his head. don't know how they do it without freaking out, but not a place where you want to start swatting with the arms. Only works for small areas, unless one eliminates all warm-blooded wildlife. We're now in the 'tick-free' month - can't recall seeing one in August - but I've picked off hundreds at other times and got anaplasmosis from a November encounter in 2022. 47 this morning, topped out near 70. Nice.

They don't make nests, through. Nuking ticks with pesticides just makes them more resistant in the long-term. If you want less ticks in your yard, deter the hosts from being there.
