Must've been some serious localized winds. They were blocking driveways and side streets everywhere. Free firewood for somebody... Your a firewood guy. Would you really burn that stuff? Not me. Sure it's lower on the BTU content vs hickory or oak, but it's light and splits easy and burns well. I wouldn't purposely pay for it but around here tulip trees grow faster than lawn and there's always somebody trying to offload logs from a tree they had to remove (or that a storm knocked down). So for free I'll definitely take it.

Also, produces a lot of light and fluffy ash which I find annoying.
dailylurker
It feel a lot better today than yesterday. Not as good if you are expecting severe storms and flooding imo. This feel like an average summer day.

I'm off due to weather delays on the projects we're working on. I'm headed off on a hike. I kinda hope i get stuck in a storm deep in the woods lol.

dailylurker
This looks like what the HRRR had earlier. I watched this storm complex build from one lone cloud. It's engulfing the lowlands as I type. Super heavy tropical rain and increasing lightning.
Bob Chill
Prolific lightning down this way. Torrential rain is taking a back seat to the epic cg stuff. Best light show I've seen in years. Wow. Training cell is warned but little of any wind or hail. Wouldn't want to be walking around in this one. Nowhere to run or hide lol 3
BlizzardNole
I'm liking the look on radar better than yesterday's skinny, fast-moving line. My yard and butterfly garden need some rain pretty bad now

katabatic
I can see why the FFW is east of here. Just a gentle light rain (radar, at least here, has more bark than bite) with a few rumbles of thunder. DPs never got above 65 this afternoon. About 0.20" so far. Enjoy the action east of the BR!
