It's amazing. The forest is quiet. I've got a few birds hanging out in the grassy shady area along the woods. The ground is probably cooler there. It's interesting how the animals handle extreme temperatures, both cold and hot.

97 here in the thick forest along the South River. It's probably 100 just above the trees. I'm sweating just sitting on my shady screen porch smoking a dooby.

It officially hit 100° in my neighborhood this afternoon. At one point it was 99/80 for a HI of 121°

I’m not even going for my walk today. Just gonna stay inside and do laundry. Slept great after night 6/8.

Just hit 100…HI 113.   I am good now, this can end

Wx station said I hit 100.4 around 2pm. Heat index is 118.

Sitting at 99.6 and just looked outside.  Everything is on fire. The roads, the houses, the cars, the trees and bushes. Neighbor was walking a dog and it hadn’t burst into flames yet….nope, too late.  The dog is now on fire. So is the lady.

Downtown Charlottesville hit 100 right around 4:15, back to 99 now. (WVIR Earth Networks Station)

Temps outside of town hovered around 95-96 most of the afternoon.

CHO's garbage weather station hasn't reported since 2:05pm.... right in the middle of a significant weather event again. It's like they do it on purpose, it's honestly baffling how often that station goes offline.

High 96

94 currently. DP 71. Could be worse.

Despite forecast highs of 98-100 over the years, as long as I have lived here taking the under is 100% win.

Yeah. You most likely need a drought and/or a, at least, near 600dm high in July to hit the triple-digits.

I forget. Have you actually hit 100F before? Once? Twice?

Yeah it would have to be something highly anomalous. Probably a combination- record high h5 heights, very dry conditions, good mixing via westerly winds. This area is the antitheses of UHI. 'Corn sweat' can contribute to somewhat higher DPs in mid to late summer, but that also would tend to keep temps a bit lower.

I don't think I have seen a temperature higher than 98 on my weather station, and that is pretty rare. Nice to have the mesonet stations just to my SW and NE to validate my obs.
