People saying the current look is deep summer are the same ones saying that the leaves look “leathery” on August 2nd

They do start to fade a bit by then

I see little green worms under oaks. Probably tent worms or whatever they are. Don't think they are gypsies.

Yeah they're not gypsies. There were no eggs around. Winter months perhaps.

looks like it starts brightening right on the back edge of this final band... probably associated with the main front... highly inverted system coming in as a cut-off as it does.

Tomorrow will be 73 easy in this thermal profile if we get sun.  In fact, I could see TCU erupting in that "dry" slot.

I see DIT was confused by my statement and I wasn’t trying to undermine the deep summer claim… vegetation just looks different as it gets going.

That light green is always an awesome time IMO… fresh.  Not the deeper, dark green of a July forest.

Just different variations throughout the warm season.  Sometimes I think we use the deep summer phrase when we really mean “warm season.”

I do appreciate the late spring/early summer look.  Refreshing.

We’re in the lime green stage too. Hopefully the fruit trees get a little sun before they’re done blooming.

At least the whistlepig is having fun in the rain.

I has one living under my shed for a couple of years, didn't see him last year so I assume he's gone.
