There seems to be some moisture coming.

Should be beneficial rains at a time when the region can benefit from it, soak it up… during green up. The vegetation is thirsty when it becomes active again.

Somebody down here might get smoked. I’m at .98” since Friday.

It’s been a steady moderate to heavy rain all night. There’s a squeeze play with the high in QB trying to sink southward and the southerly flow cranking up…so some decent fronto. Pretty much perfect deformation over us with the col right over my head.

You can read about meteorological features, but it’s fascinating to see it all play out in realtime. Do you think some of those high end QPF depictions the next few days have a chance of verifying? I lean toward the Euro being more right than not, though I think it’s running a little hot. It’s not alone though.

It’s pretty cool seeing those “waves” on the northern fringe as the dry air interacts with the stretching deformation. Meanwhile the southerly firehose keeps crashing into it. A steady dumping of rain all night.

I see 0.49” (24hr) and 0.98” (May) for you? Is that much less?

0.5” here since midnight.  0.65” yesterday.

Euro has a coastal Friday into Saturday with inches more. Hopefully it’s wrong. Either way, starting Mothers Day looks like a nice run of 70’s and 80’s

Actually had a lot more rain than I thought we would have. Almost half inch last night. Some spots near in inch down by marshfield.

I think overnight into mid day was our best shot, and if correct models are showing heaviest pivots west of E CT later today.

Yeah models kind have already busted positive a little for eastern areas. Radar looks active for most off the morning too. Subsidence has taken on a more north/south rather than east/west orientation.

 Don't forgot to try some New Haven Apizza. I like Bar and Modern  Archie Moore's has the best wings in New Haven as well. Please don't go to Wingstop. 

Also, long wharf across from IKEA has dozens of really good food trucks along the water.
