MANDA
Interesting. I believe "corn sweat" was a big player raising DP's in the 1995 heat wave that killed 700+ in Chicago.

Heat index is the same both ways. Can’t wait for this front to come through. Given how dry it’ll be getting maybe for once we can get a good line of storms vs the usual broken up crap. heat and temperature are two different things which is why we use the heat index

TWCCraig
Max of 89 today, currently 88/75, feels like 98 Only 2 90 degree days on the year. Reiterating a point made earlier, while temperatures haven't been impressive at all, the dew points make up for it to an extent. Heat indices here have been 95-

The mid to upper 90s made it to NJ along with Brooklyn and Queens away from the sea breeze. You knew that Central Park wasn’t making it to 100° due to the overgrowth covering the sensor. The models and many forecasters don’t take that into account. Most don’t realize how dense the tree and plant growth has been around the NYC ASOS. Intensewind002
Currently 88/76/99 which is the max so far for today, I don’t believe I’ll hit 90 now so technically not a heatwave then since I only got 2 90+ days in a row but it feels plenty hot enough…

guinness77
I complained to you guys yesterday and my anger has not subsided at all. Radar looks great for me too. I want to wring my neighbors neck (whoever decided to cancel this party) right about now. It’s absolutely gorgeous out, nice breeze, not even that humid. Unbelievable that this was decided yesterday.
