Made it to 78 yday. Riding my bike it was legit hot, had to go back to shorts, but beautiful day with peak fall foliage into NYC now.

64 now, a warm/humid marathon morn. I remember working at Brooklyn half marathon and it was mostly cloudy humid low 70s, many people were handling it terrible.

Now the Euro is coming around to the idea of a tropical system phasing with a disturbance crossing the Great Lakes next weekend. So the possibility of high winds and heavy rain for our area. Probably need several more days to refine the exact track.

Tropical systems near Puerto Rico aren’t supposed to track westward back to Florida in November. What used to be November climo favored northeasterly tracks from that location. But we have a record breaking 1045 mb high this week blocking the typical recurve OTS.

The models are getting stronger with the tropical system and the phasing with the Great Lakes shortwave coming across. I have a feeling this is going to turn into a really big event next Saturday. Possible high wind and heavy rain impact

Getting Ida vibes with it but it could be stronger as it climbs up the coast.

More eastern track will give us heavy rains, more western track gives us strong winds/coastal impacts & dare I say severe weather/tornadic activity.

The last time that that Florida had a hurricane cross from the east in November was the Yankee Hurricane of 1935. This kind of track in November is very rare. So it it will be interesting to see how the trough interaction next weekend works out for our area.
