January 30-February 1 Winter Storm

one nice thing about this event is that there will be a lot of moisture advection with it.  Models show low and mid levels will be pretty juiced

Ten feet of snow? I would like to experience that sometime!

Was alluded to earlier, but the GFS thermal fields look like utter nonsense.  How it changes to rain up to I-80 with the surface-850 mb level lows tracking through downstate IL/IN is quite the feat.  Not that it can't rain to I-80, but it's not gonna do it with that track.

Would you believe GHD 2015 is on the CIPS analog list again?  :lol:

A few other recognizable dates on there as well.  #1 analog was March 9, 1999

At this point I’m starting to believe the CIPS analog ML is faulty

Will never happen in my life time.  Something like that happened in the early 1900's.  I saw pics of the Railroad that takes that route from Toledo to Chicago.

Do you have a link for the cips analog? I always see people mention them but don't have a link.
