  1. Over five inches on the ground now here. Had to knock the snow off of my boxwood standards-they were all splayed out. Very beautiful out.
  2. Well I am happy to have had no power outages, no water pipe freezes, and no problems with any tree limbs down or any other kind of wind damage or problems. And it is a white Christmas and so nice, pretty and sunny out! Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays to all on this forum!
  3. Columbus officially at John Glenn got 4.8 inches of snow as of 7am. (at least this is what I saw when I was looking at Minnesota totals and was able to move over and they had this report and 4.6 inches 2 miles east of Upper Arlington.)
  4. Yes it is 8 below here and more snow than expected(maybe 4 inches or so). I hope the wind does not pick up too much today. It is brutal outside. *but YAY a white Christmas!
  5. My brother's English teacher in High School died in a similar way-power was out so she was out in the car getting warm-in the garage with the doors closed. Smh. Blizzard of 78 in Ohio Per Cnn the death toll is 120 in Florida and 5 in N. Carolina. I wonder what the causes of death were? And the number missing is always super high for a while in disasters like these. That '10,000 missing'' will come down pretty dramatically after a while longer.
  6. I have seen that. They don't seem to mention that nobody had this coming in at 155mph either. I sure was shocked when I got up that morning and saw how it had intensified. An analysis of who died and where they died will help sort some things out. Maybe some things can be learned and certain groups may need to be targeted more when there is a threat?
  7. CNN is reporting 100 deaths now in Florida, with 4 more in North Carolina. So it appears to be over the 50-100 mark at this time.
  8. So not only is the pier gone, but the building where all of these cams(there were several) were located is completely gone as well-as in just not there.
  9. Good thing they took that rocket in.
  10. likely Ft. Myers Beach, along the barrier island. Hopefully most of the area inland is not quite this bad. But I bet a part of it will be.
  11. Damn. I need to look for some current pics.
  12. https://tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/waterlevels.html?id=8725520
  13. Looks like it peaked at 7.66 and has dropped slightly now.
  14. I need to take a damn break...I am getting obsessed with it I admit.
  15. That is right(literally) on the water in downtown Ft. Myers so the surge cannot be too bad there so far.
  16. I just wanted to make the difference in that post because we were discussing if the surge had gotten bad in Cape Coral/Ft. Myers itself so I wanted to just let it be known that the pic of the serious flooding was older and from the beach area. We have yet to see what it is like in DT Ft. Myers/Cape Coral. Hopefully not as bad as at the beach? Later video showed houses in water up to the eaves there(Ft. Myers Beach). And they were one story houses filmed from a landing on a two story house. Yikes
  17. Hopefully they will come through ok...at least they are not in A or B which would be much worse.
  18. I saw the video of this on youtube-this is not Ft. Myers itself but is Fort Myers Beach right by the coast just off the beach.
  19. *edit...just not appropriate. I hope your family comes through this okay.
  20. And that was nearly 45 minutes ago and way upstream from most of Cape Coral.
  21. Zone 3 in Cape Coral should not have the worst flooding. Are they in the upper northern part or the southern part? Is there a two story home nearby?
  22. Most of those houses are only one floor also. I hope somehow it is not as bad as the beach areas we are seeing.
